Friends of Water in the Westfjords
The Vatnavinir Vestfjarða Team is the first aquatic project of a whole region in Iceland. Therefore the project makes an important contribution to the development of Iceland‘s aquatic tourism product. 
The Vatnavinir Vestfjarða project wants to make a good example of how a region can build up new business adventures, built on its regional strengths that often are forgotten or taken for granted by the locals.
Vatnavinir Vestfjarða wants to enrich the activities available, provide diverse job opportunities and allow visitors to experience some of the purest forms of nature. We believe the health related opportunities will grow in the future and that our area is perfectly suited for this type of industry and will provide opportunities in the future.
Our vision is to offer different types of baths using the unique resources of each destination, for example: clay baths, steam baths, mineral baths, seaweed baths, herbal baths and more. 
It is very important that development and marketing for the aquatic destinations are integrated with the activities in the whole of the Westfjords. The thermal pools will be part of complete travel packages that enable visitors to nourish their health and soul at our natural baths at the same time as they experience many different nature and cultural activities.
The project has many advisors participating in the project development that all share the same goal. These new aquatic attractions will be high quality experiences for visitors that care about our unspoilt nature, our cultural traditions, our way of living as well as the environment we all share in the future.
